Wilson High School Hackathon

The 2nd Annual Wilson Hacks was a 9-hour hackathon for high school students in the D.C. metro area. This year’s event was organized by Woodrow Wilson High School and held at Facebook's DC Headquarters on Saturday, February 1st. Sponsors included ValidaTek, Facebook, Amazon and Sci-Ma-Tech. ValidaTek provided 100 T-shirts for participants and volunteers.

During the event, hackers attended various technical workshops designed to help them improve their coding skills and develop ideas for their projects. Hackers worked in teams or individually on a themed project to address a local or global problem, e.g. climate change.

After 7 hours of coding, hackers showcased their ideas to a panel of judges and competed for prizes in the following categories:
