On February 6th and 7th, ValidaTek volunteers, Natalie Maggitt and Cortland Polk, participated in this year’s WilsonHacks competition as judges in the Best Overall category (1-3rd place). There were 15 submissions total and the theme was supporting small businesses. Dwight George also shared an amazing presentation on “Making Money in Federal Information Technology.”

To celebrate International Women's Day 2021, Teens In AI ran a global #GirlsInAI2021 Hackathon to inspire hundreds of girls and young people from underrepresented communities (LGBTQIA) aged 12-18 across the world into Artificial Intelligence.

What is a Hackathon? A hackathon is an event that gathers people with a diverse set of skills (programming, design, entrepreneurs) to solve a real problem within a limited amount of time.

This was the first GirlsInAI Hackathon in DC and their mission is to promote diversity in the tech industry. This event boosted the understanding about AI, developed a diverse set of skills including project management, design & coding, and participants were guided by key industry mentors including our very own Natalie Maggitt.
