ValidaTek would like to thank and acknowledge Nickolaus Johnston for his hard work and dedication. Nickolaus joined our ValidaTek family in January of 2017 and is a DevOps Engineer II on the Department of State (DOS) CAQM (Consular Affairs Queue Management) project. CAQM manages the lobbies of Consular Sections Overseas and Passport Agencies, streamlines the business processes associated to the Consular Sections and Passport Agencies and captures metrics regarding wait and service times. Nickolaus’ responsibilities include tier 3 support, server maintenance and management, supporting migrations of Passport Agencies, deployments to Overseas Posts, and troubleshooting complex issues identified by the end user. CAQM is a small team and has enabled Nickolaus to spend time creating a desktop application to work with the lobby management software. His next project includes a full kiosk solution.
Nickolaus has an associate degree in Computer Science, a bachelor’s degree in Japanese and is currently working towards his Computer Science bachelor’s degree at George Mason University. In addition, he is Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) Certified and is working towards passing the Security+ Exam as well.
When asked what he likes most about working at ValidaTek, Nickolaus mentioned that it would definitely be the people in the company. He stated that everyone does their best to help each other however they can. We look forward to continuing working with Nickolaus and thank him again for all his efforts!
